Old Business:1.) Run Sheets - No one turned any in; 2.) Vests, Shirts, Hats - Gene and Tony received their hats; 3.) Training Center update - per last Board Meeting plan to move ahead, hopefully complete by February; 4.) Radio's (purchased) - 7 used radio's were purchased from the Sheriff's Office, we are seeking funds to reimburse for cost to S.O. and Granite Electronics (for reprogramming, new batteries and belt clips); 5.) Protocols to new Medical Director - our protocols were dropped off for Dr. Johnson to review and sign off - no word back from him as of yet. Discussed to send "Thank You" to Dr. Hussain - approved; 6.) Wrestling Tournament - it was covered, no one present to tell us how it went; 7.) Glucometers (no funding) - Was told by previous Diabetic Educator that there was no response from any of the reps to provide us with Glucometers, will check again with new Diabetic Educator in a couple of months; 8.) Upcoming Events - we need two volunteers to be at the Finish line of the Vasaloppet on February 8th; The Home Show is April 17th (12-8pm) and the 18th (9am-4pm) - we are given a free booth, going to do a demo - need some volunteers; Coborns Brat stand was discussed and approved to put in application for; Kanabec Sportsmens Fair (at Russell's in Ogilvie) September 19th and 20th; 9.) Other Old Business - Cathy Dial still checking on Nasal airways. |
New Business:1.) A thank you was received and read to the membership from a Mora Fire Fighter acknowledging two of our volunteers for a good job; 2.) B.A.R.T. training opportunity offered by the Mora Area Fire Department February 2nd at 6:30 pm at the Mora Fire Hall - this will replace our normal February meeting, all are welcome to attend this training on Animal Rescue; 3.) Reminded our volunteers when they are out on the scene, be sure to introduce yourself and who you are with to other EMS providers so they know who we are. Also be careful on scene - remember scene safety is FIRST; 4.) Would like some people to volunteer to brainstorm fundraising idea's and/or grant writers (remember all proposals must be approved by the board). Some idea's that were discussed were: a pancake breakfast; a "meet & greet" at the townhalls; partnering up with another group, i.e. Knights of Columbus; 5.) Thank you's were sent to State Farm Insurance and Heggerness Insurance for donations received to help purchase the new vests. We are also going to place an ad in the paper; 6.) Township letters will be sent out soon, can anyone help by delivering personally and/or attending the annual meetings to represent us? Thank you to Karen Oberg for taking Whited Township and Cathy Dial is checking the possibility of taking Grass Lake Township. The rest will be mailed; 7.) New applicants were discussed, we have 4 to put on, all have passed background checks; 8.) Other - Karen Oberg is looking for a volunteer or two to help show the cub scouts what 1st aid is about, these are 4th graders and the time needed is minimal. It is February 3rd at 6 pm at the fairgrounds, anyone that can help please contact Karen at 679-6861; an issue was brought up about another first responder agency, the board will investigate. |
